Whether you're a family of seasoned skiers, first-time riders, or professional parents ready to break away from the office for an Alpine adventure with the kids, our luxury ski chalets are just the thing for you. With breath-taking panoramic views of the Val d'Isere mountains right from you're balcony, you'll have all the space you need with our luxury interiors, ensuite bedrooms and tempting hot tubs.

Our luxury breaks in the middle of the French Alps are designed for the entire family, so be sure to read on for our tips for skiing with children and toddlers to make sure you all get to experience everything Val d'Isere has to offer.

Thermals for the whole family

Your packing list for skiing with children is bound to be a little different to that time you hit the Alps just for the après and spas on your own. This time round, it's everything for the younger ones…

No matter if you're going for some pro skiing lessons or just thinking of a week in one of our luxury chalets, there's a 100% chance there's going to be snow on the ground! And with snow comes low temperatures, which means it's super-important to pack a good set of thermals and under layers for everyone. There are speciality brands that focus solely on getting the right balance of comfort and warmth for toddlers and younger children.

Make the most of family ski rental deals

Truly enjoy the mountains by taking the weight off your shoulders. There's no need to carry the whole family's gear when you can rent everything you need to enjoy the slopes from the number of rental hire providers on offer including luxury services and family deals.

We recommend two bespoke outfitters in Val d'Isere: Oxygene and Snowberry. Both provide in-chalet fitting, the latest ski and snowboard models and full equipment servicing.

Children's Group Ski Lessons on the Solaise Mountain

Get to grips with the skiing essentials

You may have always felt at home on the slopes and now you can give your children the same opportunity. Some lessons with a qualified instructor who specialises in teaching young children will equip them with the essentials they need to build a life-long love of skiing.

At Le Chardon, we can recommend the top ski schools throughout Val d'Isere and Espace Killy to match you and your family up with instructors who will be the perfect fit.

Find a variety of activities

If you find your child is having a tricky time getting used to their snow feet, it's a good idea to have a few other activities lined up. Val d'Isere has the all-in-one sports and swimming centre, the Centre Aquasportif. There, you'll find a great pool, swimming teachers offering lessons for the young ones, water cannons, bubble baths and everything from squash to climbing walls, a golf simulator and the Children's village. In addition to that, there's always husky rides, sledding runs, a cinema and an ice rink to get stuck into.

Find the family friendly areas

Val d'Isere is the perfect place for you to enjoy wholesome days of riding with the kids. There are great areas for the whole family just a stone's throw from our luxury chalets. The long blues that link up at the top of the Solaise are always a great option, while the wide runs of the Bellevarde area promises plenty of family-friendly skiing.

Regularly top up your energy and nutrition

Nutrition is all-important when it comes to holidaying on the slopes with the whole family - kids need their energy just as much as adults during long days of riding.

Thankfully, Val d'Isere has no shortage of on-mountain restaurants to kick back in. There's cosy little Edelweiss, with its roaring log fires and panoramic terrace. There's the rustic La Fruitière, combining a vast range of French country cheeses and a curated wine list. There's the up-coming La Peau de Vache; part fine-dining, part mountain bar. You can pre-book a space in any of these with help from our concierge service, or simply hit the lifts and discover the wonderful gastronomy of the Espace Killy yourself.
