The 5 chalets of le Chardon Mountain Lodges, le Chardon, Mistral, Lafitenia, la Bergerie and le Kilimanjaro, are a physical testament to a life long love affair with Val d’Isere and winter sports.

These exclusive chalets are built by skiers for skiers, and in which the emphasis is on homely elegance and luxurious comfort. Over the years we have played host to large corporate parties, intimate family celebrations, global superstars and members of the upper echelons of aristocracy.

However we offer each and every one of our clients a personal, discreet and professional service indicative of a small and family owned company, with the knowledge of and close relationship with Val d’Isere and all our suppliers therein.

With such a breadth and history of experience in the luxury travel market, we are able to offer our guests a tailor made service to ensure that you have the luxury alpine holiday of a life time. The advantage that we have over our competitors is two fold.

We are based solely in Val d’Isere, and run out of our own properties, so each of our guests is welcomed into an intimate family atmosphere, where knowledge of our product is second to none.

Equally being such a small company, each guest is treated as exactly that – a guest rather than one in a myriad of clients.

Secondly all of our managerial team are seasoned Val d’Isere residents. From the moment you call our reservations team, to the second you leave town, we feel confident that we can answer any questions you may have with honesty and surety.

Our Exclusive Service

It is the service that sets Le Chardon apart from other luxury ski chalets. We have created a positive can-do attitude where your every desire is satisfied and no request is ever too much trouble, whilst retaining the friendly relaxed chalet atmosphere that we all love.

From the Champagne picnic on arrival at the airport to the complimentary slippers warming by a roaring fire, Le Chardon staff will make you feel more special than ever before.

Your chalet manager will act as your personal concierge, organising massages and beauty treatments, and booking the best table for lunch at your favourite restaurant.

They even offer to take your shoes to the restaurant and collect your skis so you can have a leisurely late lunch in comfort followed by some shopping in Val d'Isère’s famous boutiques. Or, if you would like to sample the legendary nightlife, they can organise a members table at Dick’s Tea Bar and a driver to chauffeur you home safely at the end of the evening.

Alternatively, spend a cosy evening in the luxury alpine chalet which is stocked with a wide range of wines, beers, and spirits all included in the price of your stay.

The manager is supported by friendly and welcoming hostesses who are attentive, but do not encroach. They will bring you tea in bed, serve all meals with professionalism and courtesy and ensure the lodge is immaculately clean and tidy at all times with fresh flowers, your choice of daily newspapers and roaring fires in the hearth. There is an on-call driver available for you all day, so if you fancy ending your ski day early there will be someone available to take you back up to the chalet where you can put your feet up and sink into cosy relaxation.

Children are very welcome. We can arrange nannies for you to pick the kids up from ski school and take them back up to the chalet for lunch if they aren't skiing in the afternoon. There are sledges, buggies, games, toys and nappies all available in the chalet to while away the afternoons and we are more than happy to ensure that the children eat at a specific time and with a more tailored menu if requested in advance.

Dinner in the evening must be the highlight! There is no sign here of the tired set menu plan found in the kitchen of most catered chalets. Chefs at Le Chardon are inspirational and passionate about their chosen careers. They take advantage of fresh local produce, creating original dishes which can be tailored to your party’s needs. The chef or manager will make contact with you prior to your arrival in resort to discuss any dietary requirements, healthy options or special occasions.

Fully Catered Gourmet Service

Fresh air and exercise make for a hearty appetite. Our ethos is to provide good, healthy food made with fresh produce; and a menu that is innovative, appetising and varied, giving our clients a mouth watering array of exquisitely created dishes.

The day starts with tea in bed, watching the sun paint the tips of the mountains a pale gold and your thoughts turning to the morning’s skiing.

Breakfast is a plentiful mixture of choice, from cereals and yoghurts, to croissants and cooked breakfasts with a constant supply of fruit juices, teas and coffees.

On return from the slopes a tea of cake, scones and breads awaits you by a roaring fire, taking an edge of that healthy hunger until canapés and champagne are served half an hour before dinner.

These can be enjoyed from the comfort of a sofa, or the bubbling luxury of a hot tub, relaxing those muscles and watching the sun set over Val d'Isère whilst reliving the highlights of your day.

Dinner is an unrushed and leisurely affair, with 4 courses of starter, main course, cheese board and dessert, each night a different menu, and with dishes tailored to your particular likes and requirements.

Each of our chefs are hand picked for their passion and flair, and will call you prior to your arrival to discuss any necessities your party might have, to ensure that all your meals are above and beyond your expectations.

Children, perhaps more than adults can be the most severe and honest of critics, and for them the excitement of a ski holiday is more about the magical winter wonderland than the finer points of fresh flowers and daily newspapers. That is why we pride ourselves on creating an ambiance within the chalets that is perfect for our younger clients.

The chalets themselves are perfect for games of hide and seek, with endless nooks, crannies and hiding places. Each TV room has a DVD player and satellite, bean bags, comfy chairs, games and books.

Located at the top of the Legettaz area of Val d'Isère, there are acres of outside space in which to build a snow man, test the toboggans, and throw a snowball or two.

From the moment they arrive, excited by the first glimpse of snow, to the moment they fall into a warm and comfy bed, with an exhausted and exhilarated smile on their face they won’t have a moment to be bored.

For the parents, we can arrange for highly qualified nannies to take the pressures of being in multiple places at once out of your hands.

Ensuring the kids are at ski school in the morning, they will then return to pick them up at lunchtime and bring them back to the chalets, where a healthy and filling lunch will be waiting for them. So you can enjoy a leisurely lunch without rushing back down to Val d'Isère to do the “school run”.

Our chefs are happy to prepare separate meals, at a time chosen by you for your children, with an emphasis on fun dishes made with fresh and healthy ingredients, thus ensuring that our younger travellers benefit from the comfort of our chalets, the service therein, and all the magic of Val d'Isère and the Espace Killy as much as their parents.
