Exercise on the Olympique
Last night a mock evacuation exercise occured on the Bellevarde Express. The exercise pretended that a cabin full of skiers was stuck. Around 40 employes from the STVI were participating in this mock evacuation, it showed how important it is to rehearse as it is not a simple task to bring down a group, one by one along a cable. The rescuers have to reach the cabin, using the main cable, enter inside, then secure with a body harness each person before helping her to descend. It took one hour and a half. |
