Combined with the launch of the snowboard emerged a ‘bad boy’ image that was mainly caused by the fact that it was teenage males who were participating in the sport. Luckily in today’s skiing environment the sport has exploded and attracts women and men of every age group.

Snowboarding made its introduction at the Winter Olympic Games in 1998, yet this wasn’t without controversy. Furthermore, there are still several American ski resorts where the sport is totally prohibited.

Its recognition may be aided by the truth that snowboarding is simply less difficult than skiing.
